Specific Experience Interim IT Infrastructure management for Westcoast Energy Inc. (now Duke Energy Gas Transmission Canada). As Director, IT Infrastructure Services, responsible for the definition, development and implementation of an enterprise-wide IT Infrastructure organization to deliver services to all operating companies utilizing an outsourcing strategy. Includes the development and staffing of the internal organization utilising change management practices, execution of an extensive outsourcing RFP process, selection of an outsourcing partner, contract negotiations, business process development, and transition of services to the new organization. Project Manager and key member of the senior management team for the development, testing, and beta deployment of a web-based e-commerce insurance premium periodic billing software product. This included the development of the back-end operational and business support system as well as the set-up of the entire operational environment. Assisted Westminster Savings Credit Union through the vendor selection and contract negotiation for the outsourcing of all of their IT functions and the development of a new banking system. Prepared the RFP and managed the vendor selection process for the outsourcing of Scott Paper Canada's corporate IT services. This included the development and negotiation of service levels. Provided business analysis support to the development of a province-wide vehicle related incident analysis database for the Insurance Corporation of BC (ICBC). This included the development of a method to identify incident locations based upon GIS and GPS technologies and a digitised street map of BC. Developed the business case for an innovative Workers Compensation Board of BC program (the Diamond Program) to encourage employers and workers to strive for excellence in workplace health and safety as opposed to focusing on the achievement of minimum requirements. Conducted a feasibility study and provided project oversight and quality assurance services for the development and implementation of a new welfare supportive services payment system for Alaska's Department of Health and Social Services. Conducted an institution-wide assessment and recommendations in regards to the internal use and support of IT services for BCIT. Provided organisational consulting and IS management mentoring services to Douglas College. Developed a project business objective review model for ICBC. Conducted project post implementation reviews and audits of financial and student registration systems for Douglas College and for BCIT. While with Digital, provided systems integration strategy and implementation consultation in the winning of a $25M credit union project; project management consultation to a leasing package implementation project at a large financial institution; facilitated strategic business and marketing planning workshops. With Gellman Hayward, managed the selection, acquisition and implementation planning of a new Production and Revenue Accounting system and computing platform for Harbour Petroleum Ltd. With Turbo Resources, Ron directed an Information Systems department of 40 staff. He developed a Strategic Information Systems Plan based upon the corporate business plan. Managed the selection, acquisition, lease negotiations and implementation of a new computing platform, and new CASE and Office Automation tools. Also the selection of Financial, Sales and Inventory Management packages and directed the implementation of a pilot Point of Sale system. While with CanOxy, Ron was responsible for the management of the corporate data centre, networks, technical support and production support. He managed the complete revitalisation and conversion of the processing environment to an up-to-date, effective and efficient installation. With AWP, Ron managed applications development and support, and later a large data centre. He led the development of a Corporate Functional Business Model and I.S. Architecture as a platform for application planning. He managed the development and implementation of Sales, Inventory, Distribution, Purchasing, Payroll, A/R, Commodities Hedge, Product Pricing, Bank Reconciliation, Membership, Crop Insurance application systems. to top |
